18,529 flight miles…..and that’s only flight miles, doesn’t include train, bus, or ferry…that’s a lot!
How about some fun statistics: 18,529 flight miles, 10 total flights, 5 new immunizations, 3 medication prescriptions, 4 train rides (maybe more), 2-3 bus rides (or more), 1 ferry ride, and whatever else comes along….most of all of this for about 20-30 orphans in need, so worth it in the end…
So far I have definitely learned a lot of new things about traveling, especially overseas; however, I have no doubt there is still more to learn and experience. So far I have learned about ways to travel, costs of travel, best ways to book travel, ways to dress in other cultures, and much more. I must mention though I am so thankful that my friend knows someone everywhere we are going. So far I have received some of my immunizations, but still have a few to go.
Sometimes I just sit and wonder what to expect, but I don’t think I truly will ever know what to expect until I experience it myself. The whole trip still seems surreal to me because it’s such a big trip that most people only get to dream about, but we however, thank the Lord, will get to experience it.
I have had a few people tell me that my mother would be so proud of me; I hope this is true. My mother did know I always felt God led to do mission work overseas. I am sad she is not physically here on Earth to talk to me about it but I am glad she will get to watch over me from above.
I am a little nervous but I am looking forward to what God has in store for me/us!
